Cakes by Michelle Walker was officially born in 2018, but I've been making cakes since 2014 practicing on creating cakes for close friends and family as yet another self taught hobby. I've been so lucky to be able to turn my hobby into a living.

Some years ago I made it my mission to banish New Years resolutions and instead try something new and creative each year. Cake decorating was on the list for about 5 years before my best friend got married. She actually trusted me with her wedding cake.

Initially I was over the moon as it was my first ever cake project! Until the harsh reality of what I'd agreed to impacted. I read books, watched videos and asked about a million and one questions in the cake decoration supply shop. I'm not going to lie I think I may have come very close to tears on more than one occasion. On the day we delivered her three tier heart shaped wedding cake to the venue and set it up. I realised from then, that I loved it. From this was born Cakes by Michelle Walker.

I went on to learn more and I'm still learning. Cake fashion changes in the same way that clothes do, there's always something exciting and new. So whether it's a cake pop, a cupcake, a mini cake, a birthday cake or a wedding cake, we promise to put every effort into creating it with quality ingredients and a beautiful finish.
